Wow, that was a nice plot structure here. You can't win with one trick only, right? Anyway, I look forward for the next part)

WitchParfait responds:

Thank you, well it'll be a while until then but hopefully still this year.

Interesting approach to this character. To me he always seemed not like he isolates himself out of anxiety or fear, but because he simply didn't care for whatever was outside. But this perspective is interesting too!

bugblast responds:

Thank you!! I totally agree with that. I think it does stem from disinterest (and necessity), but I like to think the whole "chained to the guy you Know will kill you" thing and shifting from the observer to the observed sparks a new kind of discomfort.

Houston, we no longer have cookie supply problem...

KittyhawkMontrose responds:

Thank god we live in the Milky Way! 🥛

I'd say that's pretty non-canon approach to the Epic of Gilgamesh. At least for now it looks more like Gilgamesh enjoying a life of pretty much wild animal with Enkidu rather than a story of Enkidu becoming a human and thus facing a fear of death as it was depicted in the book. But the action is pretty neat and non-verbal interactions were good too. I wonder what will come next.

Heyyy thanks so much for reading & commenting Remi!!

While I also don't think this is the epitome of accuracy or anything, I tried to make it pretty close but didn't want to tell the story exactly in the order of events as it is in the original epic, partly cuz it was originally an art school final project, so I had a page limit of 40 (maximum I could push for) and decided to spend it on fights, showing off character design and a few cathartic emotional moments as you know from the epic. I sadly excluded the meeting of Gilgamesh and Enkidu because of that. I even designed Shamhat but ended up not being able to squeeze her in anywhere so I picked my poisons. Aside from that version of the comic being rushed, I decided to revise it almost completely and leave in the good pages while keeping the pacing I originally intended + buff the art with my current skill. I must draw that part anyways since now I find it much more symbolic and beautiful everything, and with this kind of 'retrospect' pacing I feel like that's not impossible to do at all, so stay tuned I bet you won't be dissappointed! Once again thanks SO MUCH for the insightful comment :D

I've read this book and it's a pretty interesting both in mythological and literature ways. I wonder how you will execute it in a comic. Looking forward for next parts!

prolo04 responds:

It's really amazing what people were capable of so long ago. Thanks for this comment as well Remi! I couldn't be more excited myself :D

Not that much of action or "action" in this chapter, but it was interesting to read, the characters were surely cute kids)

Crescentia-Fortuna responds:

yee, it was more of a flashback chapter, and since many characters were rather young in the flashback, we figured it's best to avoid andything too lewd going on, as to not leave the wrong impression^^

Here's to many more new masterpieces and visitors in this gallery! May it go on and on forever!
