Unusual approach to a demon as an ice-associated creature. Am I right that ice has to do something with a sin of pride?

More than one reason I chose this approach to him, actually.
In Dante's Inferno, the devil is frozen up to the waist. As well as the phrase "till hell freezes over", his ice abilities are inspired by both of these things.
That and, well, he is supposed to be a very cold person, which you can say is absolutely influenced by his need to keep up his image and sense of control at all costs.
