The beginning of the lyrics really kicked me out of immersion, all the screaming right away don't resonate with the melody. At least for me

I get that. In fairness, I mixed the vocals a touch too loud, and needed to make it less abrasive. It actually drowns out the rhythm section, aside from the snare. Plus, my main inspiration for the track was far less melodic leading into the first vocal part than how I did it. It is what it is; I think it's fine, it just needs some adjustments, mixing wise

I loved the original story and the narration is well done too. A bit too fast foe me at the beginning, but then it gets into calmer pace that is easier to listen to
