Hell yeah, that's powerful.
The only thing that I felt a bit out of place is that transition to more modern-sounding part at 1:20 was a bit too sudden to me. Maybe some more pure and hollow-sounding drums as an intermediate part could've made that transition more smooth, but idk, I know nothing about music production so you might as well ignore this rambling

The beginning of the lyrics really kicked me out of immersion, all the screaming right away don't resonate with the melody. At least for me

I get that. In fairness, I mixed the vocals a touch too loud, and needed to make it less abrasive. It actually drowns out the rhythm section, aside from the snare. Plus, my main inspiration for the track was far less melodic leading into the first vocal part than how I did it. It is what it is; I think it's fine, it just needs some adjustments, mixing wise
